Biography
Dr. Samia is a Consultant Psychiatrist and a Head of Psychiatry Department, Rashid Hospital, Dubai Health – Dubai Academic Health Corporation (DAHC). Dr. Samia is the President of Emirates Society of Mental Health (ESMH), also the President of Arab Federation of Psychiatrists (AFP), and the Secretary of Education and Training in Asian Federation of Psychiatric Associations (AFPA). Dr. Samia is the Chair of Wellbeing Committee; in Post Graduate Medical Education, Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences in Dubai Health, and the Head of Scientific Program in the Psychiatry Department – Rashid Hospital in Dubai Health. She plays a great important role on the awareness of mental health in United Arab Emirates, and she is the Head of Mental Health Awareness Campaign – Dubai Health. She also the core organizing of many Regional and International conferences/congress. Dr. Samia has Several Publications in peer reviewed International Journals. She is an author of two Books on Self Harm in Substance Abuse Population and Professionals' Perceptions of Sexual Abuse. Dr. Samia has a special interest in Forensic Psychiatry; the interaction of mental health with the law and the complexity of pathways to offending.
DR. FATIMA SAYED

Biography
Dr Fatima Youssef is the vice president of the Emirates Society of Mental Health. She has been working as a psychiatrist from June 2018 to date. On completion of the Arab Board Psychiatry Residency Program at Rashid Hospital, Dubai Health Authority (DHA), Dr Fatima worked as a Psychiatrist in the Rashid Hospital’s Psychiatry Department until January 2023 when she started working in Al Jalila Children’s Hospital’s Mental Health Centre of Excellence. She was the clinical director for special Olympic – strong minds in UAE from 2019 till 2021. Her passion is to help others overcome their struggles and to remove the stigma of mental illness.
DR. KHAWLA ALMEER

Biography
Dr. Khawla AlMeer is a Consultant Psychiatrist at Rashid Hospital, affiliated with the Dubai Health Authority. In addition to her clinical role, she serves as the Secretary General of the Emirates Society of Mental Health (EMA). Dr. AlMeer also holds the position of Co-Director for the Psychiatry Residency Training Program at the Dubai Health Authority. As the Head of the Community Mental Health Team within the Psychiatry Department, she plays a crucial role in addressing mental health issues in the community. Dr. AlMeer is based in Dubai, UAE, where she contributes significantly to the field of psychiatry through her various roles and responsibilities.
DR. SUMAIYA MAKLAI

Biography
Dr Sumaiya Maklai currently works as a Specialist Psychiatrist in the Psychiatry Department of Rashid Hospital in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Dr Maklai has completed her undergraduate medical studies from Dubai Medical College, following which she did her Residency in Psychiatry under the Dubai Residency Training Program, Dubai Health Authority. She has her Arab Board Certification in Psychiatry and is also a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists, UK. She has also completed her MSC in Psychiatry via distance learning from Cardiff University, UK. Her main interest lie in General Adult Psychiatry with a focus on Community Psychiatry.
DR. BASSAM DHEYAA

Biography
Arab board certified psychiatrist with expertise in diagnosing and treating a broad range of psychiatric and behavioral disorders in acute and maintenance situations. With a considerable exposure to a wide range of cases and situations involving general adult, child, adolescent, addiction and geriatric psychiatry, whether they are inpatient or outpatient.
